The Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Comrade Japheth Odesanya, on Tuesday, parlayed the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon Hameed Aroyewun, on the Renewed Hope project of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Comrade Odesanya, who commended the council boss for his laudable projects within the short period of his administration, emphasised that it is the performances of the Aroyewun and others that the group will use in mobilising residents of Ikorodu, Lagos State and Nigerians, when the time comes.
The Renewed Hope Coordinator has been visiting and consulting with major political leaders and stakeholders since his inauguration about two weeks ago. He and his team has visited Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor and GAC chieftain, Asiwaju Olorufunmi Basorun, former Secretary to the Lagos State Government and GAC chieftain, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, former Commissioner for Agriculture & Cooperatives and Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Divisional APC Chairman among others.
“Our visit here is in continuation of our visitations to political leaders and stakeholders since we were opportuned to emerge as the Ikorodu division’s Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors. It is about Asiwaju and his re-election. It’s also about your performance and what we are going to use in campaigning.
“I want to commend you for your laudable projects and great visibility within the few months that you have been at the saddle. I was amazed when I got to Ikorodu Central, because your generation is coming with a higher taste and I am happy.
“We have come to introduce ourselves. We have come to you to seek your interest in our mandate and project.
“You are one of the stakeholders; you are a leader and we would reach out to you from time to time. We don’t need to beg you for endorsement for Asiwaju, but we must inform you because it would be nice to do it together, and I am very certain that at the end of the day, victory would be our song”, Comrade Odesanya said.
While commending Aroyewun further, the Renewed Hope Coordinator in the division, charged him to continue with his good work.
“Just continue with this political spirit, your humanity, kindness and struggle to reach out to as many as possible. I have heard a lot from people asking me to thank you for one assistance or the other. Just keep making good use of the office”, he said.
In his remarks, Omoba Hameed Aroyewun, stressed the relationship between his family and the Odesanyas, and how Comrade Odesanya had supported and given him the opportunity to serve at a level which gave him political relevance.
He congratulated Comrade Odesanya on his new appointment, while he also commended him for his consultations with stakeholders, and pledged his support to the movement.
“No doubt, you have a good understanding of the peculiarities of the political system of Ikorodu, and I am happy with the way you are handling the situation. It is important that you carry everyone along just like you are doing, and I have no doubt that you would deliver.
“It is a collective project and we will give you the needed support. We must do it together.
“I implore you to sustain the consultation with stakeholders and the council chairmen, because we are ready to work with you.
“My prayer for you is that God would see you through and you would benefit after the assignment, and I know that there is no appointment that would be given to you at the federal level that you will not be able to handle and perform very well. I assure you of my support 100 percent”, Aroyewun assured.
The Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairman also commended Odesanya for accepting the party’s decision after the primary elections during which he failed to get the mandate to contest for the Chairmanship position of the lkorodu Central Local Government.
